North Allegheny Intermediate HVAC Replacement
Project Details:
- Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Design
- The project scope primarily included replacement of most of the existing HVAC equipment, including 2 chillers, over 90 unit ventilators, ten air handling units (including 4 serving gymnasiums), scores of roof mounted exhaust fans and refurbishment of the existing cooling tower.
- A newly installed control system (designed by BDA within the last couple of years) was modified and extended to all new and existing HVAC systems.
- Modified control system features energy efficiency optimization parameters, including use of carbon dioxide sensors in the classrooms to control unit ventilator ventilation systems.
- Miscellaneous electrical and plumbing upgrades, including complete redesign of chemistry lab areas was included in the project.
